FISH LEATHER
Red sea bream

Red snapper, known as 'Madai' in Japanese, is a fish that is almost
invariably used for celebratory occasions and is the most famous luxury
fish among the Thai species. Its leather boasts a beautiful scale
pattern that combines transparency and depth. Each scale is individually
graded, creating a gradient effect, and the three-dimensional texture
with uneven surfaces sets it apart from other types of leather.

FISH LEATHER
Japanese amberjack

The Japanese amberjack is a relatively fast-growing fish, commonly bred and widely consumed throughout the year, making it a favored staple among the general population in Japan. Its leather is known for its delicate scale patterns and a smooth texture.

Additionally, yellowtail is regarded as a 'success fish' as its name changes with age, making it an ideal leather for charms meant to bring success in various aspects of life, including work and education.

All fish possess sensory organs called 'lateral lines' to perceive water currents, and these are precious parts, with only one per piece of leather. Yellowtail leather, in particular, has clear lateral lines, making it one of the leathers that best exemplify the appeal of fish leather. Normally, there's only one lateral line, but occasionally, some fish have bifurcated lateral lines.

FISH LEATHER
Dolphinfish

The Mahi-mahi, also known as the dolphinfish, is a large carnivorous fish that inhabits warm waters and is popular among sports fishermen. In Hawaii, it is considered a luxury fish and is often referred to as Mahi-mahi. Mahi-mahi leather is characterized by extremely fine scale patterns and distinct lateral lines, providing a remarkably smooth texture.

In the traditional culture of Kochi, Japan, Mahi-mahi has been used as a betrothal gift because of the close swimming of male and female pairs. As a result, it is said to be a fish symbolizing marital harmony and romantic fulfillment.

Like all fish, Mahi-mahi possesses sensory organs known as 'lateral lines' to perceive water currents, and these are precious parts, with only one per piece of leather. Mahi-mahi, like yellowtail, also has prominent lateral lines, making it one of the leathers that best showcase the allure of fish leather.

FISH LEATHER
Salmon

This leather is known for its highly uniform and three-dimensional scale patterns, as well as its fine texture with subtle irregularities. The scale size is moderate, making for a pattern that is noticeable without being overly prominent, resulting in a versatile and practical design.

Salmon leather is among the top-tier in terms of strength within the fish leather category, ensuring longevity, especially with prolonged use.

In Japan, salmon is revered as a 'success fish' due to its ability to return to the river of its birth, as well as a symbol of avoiding misfortune and promoting the prosperity of descendants because of its prolific reproduction.
