UNDP Fish Leather Project #3
Hello everyone!
We will update Samoa Log again this time.
[Samoa's fish and markets]
To find out what kind of fish can be caught in Samoa, we headed to the Fish Market, which opens at 5am. There was a lively atmosphere here, with people gathering and fish caught in Samoa. As some of you may have noticed from the photos, there were several fish familiar in Japan. (There seemed to be particularly many fish found in Kochi and Okinawa.)
When I asked the locals, I found out that the most common fish caught are yellowfin tuna and albacore tuna. Therefore, for this project, I decided to make fish leather mainly using tuna. I will share the process of making it in a later post.

We hope that this project post will help people learn more about Samoa and the fish leather business.
I won't be posting very frequently, but I hope you'll look forward to my posts until the end of the Samoa project.
This project was commissioned and supported by ThinkCy Co., Ltd. (@tototo_official), a company based in Toyama Prefecture that manufactures fish leather and other products.
